Construction and Infrastructure

We represent clients in ad hoc as well as institutional arbitrations and related court proceedings in the construction and infrastructure sector. We have dealt with contractual disputes arising out of issues such as time at large, extension of time, liquidated damages, variations, price escalation, defects liability, retention, and payment certification, amongst others.

Our sector-specific insight on dispute identification, avoidance and resolution allows us to advise clients on litigation strategy from the inception of a claim until eventual monetisation. We have also previously worked with private equity and sovereign capital funds on their litigation financing deals with infrastructure companies for monetising arbitral awards and claims.

Corporate Commercial Disputes

We represent both international and domestic clients on disputes arising out of their commercial contracts such as supply and services agreements, technology transfer and licensing agreements; share purchase, shareholders’ rights and incorporation documents; financing documents; and employment agreements.

Employment Disputes and Investigations

We regularly represent corporate entities in employment and labour disputes arising out of labour legislations as well as private employment contracts. We also conduct internal investigations on issues arising out of misbehaviour, fraud, misappropriation of company funds and assets, and other employee allegations.

Writ Litigations

We act in proceedings initiated under the writ jurisdiction before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts. In that, we have represented clients in writ proceedings on issues arising out of regulatory actions, arbitrary implementation of statutory provisions, tender challenges, and blacklisting. We also act in the defence of writ proceedings that seek private commercial reliefs in the guise of writ reliefs.
